24 Hour Crisis Worker Support

The Glade operates a Self Referral line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for clients aged 18+ 0808 178 2058
For clients aged under 18yrs, a Self Referral line is operated by the West Midlands Paediatric Sexual Assault Service 0800 953 4133.

Our Self Referral line is operated by specially trained Crisis Workers who are there to offer advice and support to individuals who have suffered sexual assault. All our crisis workers are female.

The line is also available for friends or family members who are concerned about someone who has been a victim of rape or sexual assault. Our crisis workers are happy to speak to a friend, family member or professional on behalf of a victim.

In the event that you attend the The Glade for a forensic medical examination a Crisis Worker will be present. She will be the first person you meet at the centre and is there for you, to provide you with support whilst you are at the centre.

The Crisis Worker will support you before, during and after a forensic medical examination. If you do not wish for the Crisis Worker to be with you during the examination they can either remain behind a screen in the examination room and assist with the labelling and packaging of samples or they can remain outside the examination room.

All our Crisis Worker are trained to listen to any concerns you may have, answer any questions and provide you with information both at the centre and for you to take away with you. They will give you time to absorb and reflect on information you are given so that you can be sure you understand it and can make informed choices about your care.

All our clients are treated with respect, dignity and compassion. We understand that it is a sensitive time and we realise how hard it can be to speak out. Our SARC Coordinator / Crisis Worker will make contact with you in the following days after you have attended or made initial contact with The Glade. If you do not want this contact we will respect your wishes.
